PERMATANG PAUH: GERAKAN MULL QUITING BN

According to MCA's The Star, Gerakan is mulling quiting BN.

In a move mooted by Perak's Gerakan chief, Gerakan leadership was urged to re-think about Gerakan position as member of the coalition party.

This was in view of the political scenario on the coalition leaders adopting a political culture that garners support only from particular communities, indirectly referring to UMNO's Malays/ Islamic rhetoric and the urgency to work with PAS.

But the discussion is only after October this year, a month after the 'new regime' has taken over the federal government.

Personally I think this is another political pressure for PM Abdullah and UMNO. We will see how/ what the response will be.

Certainly this will not be a good promotional campaign item for BN, at least with the non-Malays voters in Permatang Pauh.
