SCOTLAND YARD FOR ALTANTUYA MURDER CASE

There was a suggestion by the a reader of Malaysiakini that Scotland Yard of even FBI be called in to investigate the Altantuya murder case.

According to Malaysiakini VoxPopuli, 'Pak Lah should employ the best investigators to look into the matter. Never mind if we have to employ Scotland Yard or FBI for this is not small matter.'

Amazing, i would say. Seriously, would you think that it is really necessary? There was even a suggestion from a Malaysiakini reader not long ago to appoint a foreigner to head the propose Anti Corruption Board.

Well I will agree that the Malaysian police integrity is perceive to be not up to the standard. But, to have a foreign police to investigate a murder is not a very good idea. Not all policeman are bad or corrupt. My late father was a police officer. He serve the country well and was awarded by HRH The King for his service. But, of course that was almost 20 years ago before he retired. He is no no-nonsense person, he hate corrupt policemen. So, not every policemen is bad.

Most of us may not realize is that we actually contributed to the Police corrupt practice. For example, when we are stopped for talking with our mobile phone, most of the time we would say ' Encik, kita settle kat sini boleh'.

Then, are we not corrupt ourselves?

If we want a corrupt-free enforcement organization, we need to educate ourselves not to be a conspirator.

Coming back to the issue, I strongly against the suggestion of having a foreign enforcement team to investigate the Altantuya murder. Remember not everybody is corrupt. There are many good servicemen out there.

There is precedence when the malaysian police enlisted the FBI help in investigating the disappearance of the little girl from Teman Medan.

Anyway:

Altantuya murder:
PM: Raja Petra's action unacceptable

KUALA LUMPUR: The prime minister said yesterday he did not believe Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Najib's wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor were in any way involved in the murder of Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu.
Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi also categorically dismissed the claim by blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin in a sworn statement that he had received a military intelligence report linking Rosmah to the crime.

"He said in his statutory declaration that I had been handed a report about the murder by the military intelligence. That is not correct.

"I did not receive anything. Nothing was sent to me."

Abdullah said he was concerned about Raja Petra's allegations and had been informed by the attorney-general that an investigation would be carried out based on the statutory declaration.
"What he did is unacceptable. What he said is wrong," Abdullah said after chairing a meeting of the cabinet committee on palm oil at Parliament House.

I dont think there is any need for Scotland Yard or FBI.
Our police is equally able to handle this case. Only problem is that are they given the free hand to investigate this? The long arm and smell of politics created the doubts on this case and many others cases related to politicians.
Its time we have an independant police of the politicians and ruling party.
Why Scotland Yard and FBI can be so successful? The politicians cannot tell them what to do and the truth prevails.

There is a difference between UMNO and Barisan Nasional. I want to make it clear that it is not the Barisan Nasional (BN) government, but the UMNO government. It is not the government, but UMNO. Barisan Nasional is a coalition of unequals, not equals. UMNO is the big brother in BN. Therefore UMNO must be held responsible; and more importantly, UMNO must not be allowed to hide behind the BN banner. UMNO is the enemy, not BN.

I have come to the conclusion that the easy solution is to completely defeat UMNO in the next elections.

In the 2004 elections (11th General Election), the voters gave good support to Mr.Abdullah Badawi. But reforms did not come. Why? Probably because UMNO had done well in the elections. If UMNO had done well in the elections, then the election results tell UMNO that the voters are satisfied with the status quo. If the voters are satisfied with UMNO, then no reforms are necessary. In the 2008 elections (12th General Elections), UMNO did not do well, but she managed to win. UMNO did lose the 2/3 majority in the Parliament, but she did win, nevertheless. Will UMNO undertake reforms now? I would not be surprised if she did not. Why should she? UMNO is still the winner in the elections; and she can plan to rise and may even succeed to rise again. So, as long as she wins, she will never undertake the reforms. So, how do the voters get the reforms that they need? The voters will get the reforms when UMNO is completely defeated in the 13th General Elections. If UMNO wins zero seats in the next elections (13th General Elections), then some other party would have to rule Malaysia. Let us call it Party B. If UMNO is completely defeated in the next elections (13th General Elections), then Party B would rule Malaysia. Would Party B undertake reforms? If Party B does not undertake reforms, then voters would know what to do.

There is no doubt that UMNO has used gerrymandering to strengthen herself. If we removed gerrymandering from UMNO, then there would be a reduced UMNO. So the non-UMNO voters of Malaysia have good reasons to vote against UMNO.

It is possible that UMNO has used the Police Force to strengthen herself. The Police Force is required to be neutral. But is the Police Force neutral? I appeal to the Police Force to be neutral.

UMNO is a race based political party and also the big brother of BN. So, the complete defeat of UMNO in the next elections is the only way to get reforms. The complete defeat of UMNO in the next elections is the only way to get a new beginning.

UMNO is inclined to believe that Malaysians cannot do anything if they are in any way dissatisfied. The voters, however, have to send a strong message to UMNO that the voters can do something: the voters can vote.

So, the next step for Malaysians is to completely defeat UMNO in the next elections.

I cannot believe some of our readers are so naive...If Malaysian police can or allowed to act independently.....then talk about the efficiency lah. Those in power control them. So even if they find out something/ capable of there is no point...they act 'bodoh'lah . Look at whats happening in the trial itself. So many leads very very obvious not taken up..or even questions by presecution..aiyo.eg How can / who can erase some ones travel records to malaysia? why they did that? What can anyone even the police do if they have gun pointing at their head.
even judges verdicts have ben questionable...So who to blame. People who vote certain people to power!!!

No-lah. No need outside help. We have the necessary expertise. Question is can they do their job without fear and favour?
